Solar installers – One of the fastest growing jobs in the nation

In the solar industry, North Liberty-based solar company Moxie became one of the state’s early adopters of solar when it began operations in 2008. Company founder Jason Hall said Moxie has grown from seven employees in fewer than five years ago to close to 100 — with the large majority of those employees in Iowa. Hall attributed growth in jobs to the strength of the solar market across the state, which has been driven largely by the falling cost of installing solar arrays. Hall said the cost has dropped from about $8 per watt a decade ago to around $3 per watt. “There’s never been a better time, from an economics point of view, to purchase solar,” he said. We Have a New Identity with the Same Commitment to Customers

Moxie Rebrands for a National Image – Corridor Business Journal

“Moxie: America’s Solar Company” was the new brand and tagline introduced April 11 at Moxie’s Dixon, Illinois, operations center. CEO Jason Hall said the company has been growing fast, and some things had to change. “We’re now in Denver, Austin, Cleveland, Chicago,” Mr. Hall said. “It was our opinion that our [previous] logo wasn’t going to play as well in those markets. We kind of look like the local solar installer. We want to be seen as a national provider.” Mr. Hall founded the company in North Liberty in 2008. In its original iteration as Greenhall Industries, the business helped Iowans become more energy efficient with services such as lighting upgrades that could be funded partly through utility rebates. When Iowa approved a solar income tax credit in 2012 to…

[caption id="attachment_1686" align="alignnone" width="300"] A Moxie Solar array incorporating many different build types![/caption] In June of 2017, the Future Energy Jobs Act (FEJA), passed in Illinois. FEJA frees up hundreds of millions of dollars for solar. Here's the great thing: 25% of those dollars are reserved for homeowners, on a first come, first serve basis! Moxie Solar is working to deliver those benefits along with a full service solar installation to homeowners throughout the state. ComEd and Ameren customers are both included in this program. Solar in Chicago, Illinois, and the surrounding areas provides the Illinois homeowner with immense benefits. Homeowners can pay the system back in 6 to 10 years depending on their roof structure (ROI of 10%+), and add value to their home. Additionally they can offset thousands…
