 Connecticut Solar Tax Exemption

Connecticut has a sales and use tax exemption for your solar panels, racking, inverters, and installation.

Renewable Energy Property Tax Exemption

Connecticut’s property tax exemption for renewable energy  started in 2014.

Connecticut Net Metering

Net metering in Connecticut allows you to earn credit on your electric bill on days when your system produces more energy than you use. 

Connecticut’s net metering rules apply to all investor-owned utilities but there are some limitations.

Federal Solar Tax Credit (ITC)

The Federal Solar Tax Credit is 26 percent for construction started before until Dec. 31, 2022.

Similar to other solar tax credits, with the ITC you can deduct 26% of the cost of your solar energy system from your federal taxes.

In 2023, the solar ITC drops to 22%.
