The founder of Moxie Solar is a former commercial bank President, CEO, director and entrepreneur. Jason and his group of cohorts started Moxie Solar after his wife told him that at age 40 with three kids he couldn’t “go be a Montana Smoke Jumper.” Probably right. With a strong business pedigree and a passion for the outdoors, Jason has an insatiable drive. Although quite enamored with all-things-solar Jason is the first to point out that this business is not about solar panels, watts, amps or checklists. It’s about people—and he loves meeting, mentoring and being mentored by those he comes across! You’re the CEO, and every CEO needs a President. Let Jason be the President of your solar endeavors!
An Eastern Iowa native, Jennifer is a graduate of UNI with a BA in Education. Jenn was a school teacher prior to starting a family in Cedar Rapids, IA. As the family grew, Jenn transitioned to becoming a personal trainer in the Iowa City area. Over time she took on more responsibility and became Personal Training Coordinator and Program Designer at Eastern Iowa’s largest fitness facility. Now (when not providing excellent client service at Moxie Solar) Jenn can typically be found enjoying the outdoors or working out, and never too far from her not-so little ones. Appreciation for nature’s greatest landscapes has drawn Jenn to take her family traversing the U.S. visiting numerous National Parks, Forests and Monuments. “Last stop, Glacier National Park, next stop Yellowstone. I hear the sun shines bright in Wyoming, I better bring some Moxie Solar flyers just in case.”
If things weren’t exciting enough at the Moxie Headquarters, they certainly get a shot in the arm when Kami is on the scene. Working in client services, Kami handles much more than phone calls and filing while lifting everyone’s spirits with her upbeat commentary. Kami is a graduate of Grandview College and the Mercy School of Nursing. She is co-head-of-household of 2 beautiful daughters with husband Randy in North Liberty, IA. You can find Kami and her family doing anything from white water rafting to gymnastics meets and 80’s hair-band rock concerts (hey we didn’t say she had good taste…). As the newest member of the Moxie Team, Kami instantly acclimated to the fast pace and started contributing immediately.
Chris was born and raised in rural Eastern Iowa. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance, with a minor in Economics, from Iowa State University. After college, he spent six years in the Washington, DC area working in retail and finance. Chris and his soon-to-be bride made their move back to Iowa in 2002 where he continued working in finance and banking until his first child was born in 2007. At that time, Chris and his wife decided he would stay at home with his daughter and continued to do so until his second child was off to school. The time at home was time well spent for Chris and his family. He was elected to North Liberty City Council in 2007 and was re-elected in 2011. He didn’t realize how “Green” he was until he started working with city leaders and business owners in North Liberty. Decisions made today will have a long-lasting impact on the future or our community and world. Today, Chris “renews” his time and talents from those experiences in finance, government and banking and brings them to the solar industry. He knows how important it is to diversify a portfolio; whether in business or energy consumption. He wants to lead his children and community in efforts to take care of our natural resources. He tells his children he is saving the planet…one solar panel at a time!
