Wednesday night Moxie Solar was honored by the Corridor Business Journal at their Fastest Growing Companies event. Jason Hall, Moxie CEO, had this to say: "We came in third fastest growing company in the corridor. That's a first place, a second place and now a third place in three consecutive years. The people that work here are special. I'm so excited to say honestly that no matter what coworker I'm interacting with I enjoy that person. It's striking that our team, our people, have some different quality about them that makes them special. I'd love to say we pick the right people and then create an environment that fosters original personalities. Honestly though, I don't know how we have accumulated so many sensational people. But It's absolutely evident when I go to events like…

Moxie helps to Solarize Johnson County

Solarize Johnson County is a group purchasing program for residential solar. Offered by Johnson County, six partner cities, and the Midwest Renewable Energy Association, homeowners throughout Johnson County and West Branch, Iowa may participate in this program to pool their buying power and secure significant discounts that make installing solar more affordable. The key ingredient for most participants is the pricing for the group buy. The competitive installer selection process ensures the program achieves a price per watt lower than what any individual would generally be able to get on the market. In addition, the price decreases for everyone in the group buy when certain benchmarks are surpassed. Pricing offered through the Solarize Johnson County Solar Group Buy is not guaranteed to be the least expensive rate for all solar arrays. Larger solar arrays may be able to achieve…

Moxie Solar meets with State Representative Art Staed

Today CEO Jenn Hall and President Jason Hall met with a State Representative from Iowa House District 66 in Cedar Rapids. Art Staed stopped by Moxie Solar to talk about the future of solar energy in Iowa.  Art had this to say: "The Halls are concerned about current policy and budget legislation that would remove solar tax credits and other energy-saving incentives while placing barriers on grid connection, including flat monthly rates. Moxie Solar's request, “We just need things to remain ‘status quo’.”  I agree with the Halls, and not just because solar is better for the environment than fossil fuels - which it certainly is - but it's fiscally sound. Economically, Iowa can’t afford to risk losing hundreds of good-paying solar energy jobs. Solar energy tax credits pay for…

Iowa solar advocates fear proposals would stunt industry growth

The Gazette wrote a great article about Solar concerns in Iowa. They also took a few pictures with the Moxie Solar Crew! Here's what they had to say: "Jobs related to solar energy are on the rise in Iowa, bucking a national trend. But those job gains and the burgeoning solar industry in Iowa could be undone by proposals under consideration in the state and federal governments, solar energy advocates say. There were more than 800 solar energy jobs in Iowa in 2017, a 45 percent increase over the previous year, according to the latest National Solar Jobs Census, published recently by The Solar Foundation, a national nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that advocates for solar energy. The growth of solar jobs in Iowa stands in contrast to the national picture: Solar jobs…
